On October 27th, 2010 the Brown County Wednesday Night Trap League Leading Sittin Ducks CTO Trap Team was presented a check for $250 from Greg Shermo, President of the NEW Area Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation on behalf of the NWTF's Wheelin Sportsman Program. CTO is becoming more involved with the Wheelin Sportsman Programs as both organizations have mutual goals and target groups to support.
CTO is a local non-profit group that assists area challenged in pursuing outdoor activities.
The NEW Area Gobblers Chapter (Green Bay) developed this partnership through their Packerland Wheelin Sporstmen’s Benefit held annually in Green Bay.
Due to limited CTO funding, the $250 will be used to defray trap team costs for the Fall, 2010 program. The first photo shows the team, (sitting) and Greg Shermo, (standing) at the Brown County Sportsman's Club House receiving the check. (Team Member Tom Gagnon was absent for the photo.) The second photo shows team members Dave Samsa warming his hands on a very cold night of shooting while Steve Kettenhoven takes his turn in the shooting rotation. At the time of this writing, November 4th, the Sittin Ducks still hold a 3 point lead over all other league teams.
